2022 FOLA SWIM FOR WINNI
Support the 3rd Annual FOLA (Fat Old Lady Athlete)- her words, not ours!- swim to raise awareness and funds for the Lake Winnipesaukee Association’s lake protection programs!
This August, Alexis, a 69 yr. old grandmother will swim 3 miles along the Broads to Winter Harbor, where her family has had a summer home for many years. The date is TBD dependent upon weather conditions.
“I am at an age where I care deeply about future generations”, stated Alexis. “This is our family’s 71st year on the lake. Currently, the fifth generation of our family is enjoying Lake Winnipesaukee, and we want to make sure that the lake quality stays pristine for our children and grandchildren.”
In 2020, Alexis tackled her first swim for LWA with a 2 mile route from Keewaydin Point to Cary Beach in Wolfeboro. In 2021, Alexis upped her game and tackled a 2.5 mile swim along Rattlesnake Island in Alton. This year, Alexis is choosing to swim approximately 3 miles in Tuftonboro to celebrate and honor her long-time neighbors and friends of the lake.
You can help make Alexis’ swim a huge success by making a generous donation in her honor. Thank you Alexis for being such an inspiration and great steward of the lake!
